We have stayed at the Ocean Club at least twice a year for the last 5 years and have always had great experiences. We just stayed two nights last week and were disappointed to find out the morning of our second day that the pool was closed due to sanitary reasons. We book this hotel because we have a two year old who loves the shallow end of the pool. After multiple check in s on the status it was indicated the pool would remain closed for almost a full 24 hours. I placed a call to the manager after the front desk could not offer any compensation aside from free umbrella use on the beach. We didn t pay $549/night to then buy beach badges and lug a two year old to the beach on a 90 degree day. Needless to say the hotel manager Rita was very unaccommodating attempting to compare this issue to a lightning storm...storms don t last 24hrs...she refused to do anything for us. At least a free drink would give the bar tenders a chance for a tip because they lost out that day too. Very disappointed in the response from the hotel staff as a whole and probably won t stay there again. A lot of money spent on amenities we could not use. Be wary of this if you re interested in pool access.
