Customer service is amongst the worst I have experienced with any investment firm to date (I could go into details, but I prefer to keep my heart rate down). The platform itself is mediocre at best, there are many better options out there. I am one bad phone call away from switching my dealings elsewhere. Anytime you call for assistance, expect to wait an hour +. Nothing makes me more upset that hearing CIBC quarterly earning in the BILLIONS... yet I (the customer) am left waiting on hold for 1-2 hours to talk to someone who does not follow through with the commitments. Like most industries, if you cannot keep up with volume... you hire more people. Seems quite simple really. Ultimately, I think they are to big, poorly managed and greedy. I have been with CIBC for my personal banking since I was 9 years old (25 years), in the past decade the company as an entirety appears to have forgotten the meaning of customer service and communication. Its like a dog chasing its tail.
