I am an annual pass holder at WDW. Disneyland lacks in all of the magic by comparison. The park was over crowded, the cast members were not doing a great job to create the best experience. I even came across a cast member in the gift shop who lost his cool when a customer complained.

I think it is a magical place simply because it was Walt's first park and there is that nostalgia. That vibe is pretty instantly killed by cast members who are sub par and trash in the park. Those things easily lower Disneyland to theme park status.
