There are many places in Berlin you can stay, but if you're looking for a central location, this Potsdam Platz location is superior. You're steps away from the S & U Bahn, restaurants, cafes and the Mall of Berlin which according to a brochure, has 300 shops. I was in part of the mall where there are two supermarkets and a drug store. You can't beat the convenience!

This Marriott hotel is beautiful. More of a business hotel than leisure. Don't let that stop you. I was here for leisure travels. The decor is modern/contemporary with a slight Art Deco appeal. I didn't have much staff interaction except for check-in and obtaining a copy of my bill before check-out. I would of rated this hotel "excellent," but the person checking us in didn't seem very welcoming and had a slight attitude.

On the plus side of staying here, our standard room was a great size based on other European hotels I've stayed at. The room has all the standard amenities including a safe and mini-refrigerator. The bathroom had a rain shower or regular shower head. Something minor, but I always appreciate, is the ease of using the A/C thermostat. Some other hotels have a complicated system.

Amenity wise, I enjoyed the free use of computers to print off my boarding pass in the business center. Additionally, I used the gym one time. It's of average size with mostly cardio equipment, a few free weights and a multi exercise machine. There are a few exercise mats and it's open 24 hours. Even though I didn't use the in-door pool, it looked beautiful.

There were a few times I interacted with staff via the Marriott mobile app for housekeeping, general questions and check-out. Each time I received an instant response. Great job with that! I hope to return to Berlin in the future and will gladly book this hotel again.
