WARNING: predatory lending practices. As a first time car buyer, my brother, had no idea he was getting myself into and the sales person guaranteed she would help make this an easy process. As his credit score was not built up yet he was made to believe a lease would be the only option to obtain a car. The finance person he worked with told him that in the event that he no longer wanted or needed the car that he could come into Savannah Toyota and give up the car without having to hurt his credit or pay anything else out of pocket. He signed his lease for this car without even knowing that he was going to lease it and NOT own it. He found out a year later when asking how much more he owes on the car that he was leasing and not purchasing the vehicle. This company knew he was a new buyer, this company knew that he had no experience purchasing a car from a dealership before. They signed him up for a 50 month lease paying well over $26,000.00 for a car worth less than that. The worst thing is that in order to buy this vehicle he would have had to pay over $40,000.00 total. He contacted the finance company and was told his only option was to voluntarily repo this vehicle. This company had taken advantage of his situation and I am highly disappointed in their predatory lending practices.
