Review of Shangri-La Singapore Hotel

Location: Though there are no nearby bus stops or MRT stations, the hotel provides shuttle service from and to Orchard area that leaves every hour;

Lobby: Comfortable seats with modern surroundings;

Reception: Accommodating, courteous and very helpful. Refreshments are provided during check-in process;

Club Lounge: Staff are very welcoming and have great initiative. The lounge itself is cozy and a good place to relax, with delicious food, and has an overlooking greenery view. For families with children, there is dedicated section in the lounge with kid-friendly utensils. The lady bartender was very willing to make us a cocktail drink. It s better to follow the smart casual dress code as it matches the lounge s ambiance;

Horizon Club Junior Suite King: It is a complete, cozy and spacious unit that comfortably accommodated our family of 3 adults and 1 child. There is 1 king-sized bed, a sofa and a sofa bed, kitchenette (where you can actually cook and cooking utensils can be requested), a complete bathroom (it has a bathtub, 2 sinks and a separate shower area), dining table, an office space and roomy cabinets. It has a sliding divider to separate the living room and bedroom and each division has its own Smart TV. The room has a nice overlooking view on Tanglin area s greenery;

Furniture and fixtures: Simply elegant -looking;

In-Room Entertainment: Good and stable internet connection via Wifi. The office space also provides wired internet. Cable TV have clear reception with good choice of channels to select from;

Bathroom: Very clean with complete toiletries provided. Because we informed them that we are with a child, a kid-kit was also provided;

In-Room Dining: Delicious food, arrives on-time and has good quantity;

Swimming Pool and Pool Area: The pool caters to adults and specially kids. It is sectioned into a main pool, kids pool and jacuzzi. Infused water are available and the toilets/changing rooms are clean. The place does not look like a typical pool area, the surroundings are similar to a resort. The pool closes quite early, at 8pm. It is great that there are lifeguards standing by while the pool is open;

Gym: There are a lot of equipment to choose from and staff are always present (also initiates in handling towels in case you forget to get one);

Breakfast buffet at The Line: Aside from the Club Lounge, another option is to have breakfast at The Line. The variety of food here is next to overwhelming;

Staff: The hotel staff are all excellent, very welcoming, always giving out smiles and greetings. For our overall rating, especially on the experience, I can give a rate of 11 out of 10!
