Facts regarding the Elton John concert held at Rochford winery 31/1/2020.
We paid a premium for Elton tickets and were prepared for an all-weather event
As a duty of care the show should have been cancelled before it started due to the extreme heat ( No shade was available for the majority on site )
A total fire ban was in place due to the 43 degree temperature forecast
Heavy rain and possible storms were forecasted in the evening.
The event was interrupted mid-way due to a 10 minute downpour which was not as severe as forecasted
This resulted in the show finishing mid-way and mid song with no goodbye from Elton himself.
The venue / promoter was clearly unprepared for the forecasted weather
A total of 13.5 songs were performed out of a playlist of 26
Majority of hits are in the 14 songs we did not experience.
Elton left stage mid song and we had no opportunity to farewell him
Fans have been robbed of their last chance experience to see Elton
We were told by Michael Chugg on the night to hang onto your tickets and we will work out something special, we re still in the country until March the 7th
We are now told we have experienced a substantial amount of the show and no reschedule or refund will be provided.
The good will gesture to see B grade acts in general admission is not something special as advised on the night it s a cop out!
The venue was not prepared for an all-weather event so fans should receive a minimum 50% refund.
Passing the buck between promotor, venue and ticket seller and offering a good will gesture of a lower standard is disappointing and insulting.
Take responsibility and be respectful to the fans who have missed out on their last chance to see Elton John and provide a refund.
Stop passing the buck and do the right thing
