Love McDonald observatory. The star party is great. The twilight program was extra educational. Shannon was super informative and personable. The programs sell out, so reservations are a must. If you have the time and money, reserving time on one of the large telescopes would be something to remember. Four stars only because most of the hamds on stuff in the museum is well work or broken. Fix that and it's five stars for sure.
