We booked a fishing trip with these guys 6 months ...

We booked a fishing trip with these guys 6 months ago. 5 days before the trip, they canceled on us via email because, "Due to larger than usual weather systems in the Gulf of Alaska this summer, sea conditions in and around Seward have been more variable than in past seasons." After frantically calling around we found that none of the other charters we'd called were cancelling their trips this weekend, for weather or otherwise. We booked 6 months out and our trip got cancelled five days out because of nonexistent bad weather. I will say that they offered to give us space on one of several river trips that day, but we're in Seward, 45 minutes from their lodge, without a vehicle. Our booked trip was set for them to pick us up at the dock here. I was told over the phone that we would have to arrange our own transportation to their lodge, but we don't have it in our budget, nor are we inclined, to rent a car just so we can go on one of their consolation prize trips. So none of their alternatives were equivalent to what we'd booked, basically, as they would all have required more time and money on our end.
