I am a recent graduate from Clearfield Job Corps in Utah. This has been 22 years ago since I had graduated. At the time when I had went to Job Corps. I absolutely enjoyed it. It was a very good experience. As long as you stay away from troublemakers and people with drama. You will not have any problem here. I am not sure about how this facility operates now since it had been over 20 years ago since I have attended. They have helped me tremendously and I obtained employment after I left Job Corps. While attending Job Corps I was promoted to a supervisor of a sales company. I attended Job Corps while working there and I was able to save an extremely good amount of money before leaving. Though I have heard a lot of bad things from this particular campus. I have spoke to some of the teachers there and I have been advised that the staff there need a lot more training as well need to grow up. This had came from a particular teacher that was teaching at Job Corps in Guthrie. As with anything. Improvement comes with time. I believe Job Corps as a whole. It is what you make of it. I have seen students go to jail because they wanted to have drugs on campus. I've seen a few go to jail because they sold cigarettes. I believe it is a good opportnunity going to Job Corps. I personally am reluctant on sending my son to the Guthrie Job Corps facility because of the feedback I have received. I have tried contacting the recruiter for 2 weeks now. I yet have recieved any follow up calls.
I am currently a district sales manager for a large industrial hydraulic company. Job corps helped a lot. I graduated retail sales. Generally the programs that are basic skills. U will need to be advanced further education. They teach you the basics. I would highly recomend advanced training after graduating. Unless you want to get out making 13 an hr. Then again. It all depends on the work put into it. I stayed in my dorm and did school work instead of being social and trying to be in the incrowd. This program is what you put into it!!
