I enjoyed the driving aspect of the park, but was so saddened by the enclosures. Several enclosures were littered with red Solo cups. Many of them looked too small for the monkeys, otters, flamingos, etc, and even had rusty metal fixtures in them, which I can only imagine hurts the monkeys' hands and feet in the hot summer.
It didn't appear that there were any trained professionals caring for the animals, especially since the baby room was being overseen by a 15 year old boy. I know many safari parks in the US that act as rescue, rehabilitation, and preservation centers for wildlife, but this place is just exploiting exotic animals for business. The animals don't appear to be mistreated, but they don't seem happy at all. I wish Texas and the US had stronger laws regarding exotic animals.
Also, this place has been issued warnings by the USDA and PETA for it's treatment of it's resident animals, but I think this place needs to taken over by professionals who will truly care for and provide adequate space for the enclosure animals.
