Supplier of the worst payment system in the Nether...

Supplier of the worst payment system in the Netherlands: the Marina payment card. What a terrible thing that is! For that reason I no longer visit ports that use this system. The reason? There are many:

1. You must buy the card
2. Each port has its own exchange, so if you top up with 20 at a port and you have money left over after your visit, that money cannot be used at another port
3. There can only be a limited number of ports on a map. Tourists must therefore buy several cards
4. If you want your too much upgraded money back, it is not always easy. This should be possible with a vending machine, but sometimes a harbor master is required and he is not available 24 hours a day

And it could easily have been different, making it a useful system. For example, the OV chip card is already doing better. Top up with 1 amount, travel with all different carriers in the Netherlands. If you have made a trip, it is also possible to purchase other services, such as driving out of the parking garage at the station for free.

The Marina payment card is not user-friendly for skippers and for marinas / municipalities it chases passers-by and therefore tourists.

/ Addition to answer Seijsener:
Thank you for your answer. It is sporty that you indicate that the marina payment card is not the right product for (marina) ports and that they can better use a different system. Just a pity for the ports that have already invested in the marina payment card, but that of course falls under business risk. Are there any updates given which ports are leaving the marina payment card? Then I know which ports can be visited again.
