I am training for the San Antonio marathon. at 56 and 190 lbs this will be my first marathon. I have had problems maintaining energy levels and focus during training from high school football to triathlons and century cycling events. I decided to try Generation U-can after reading about the way it can maintain your energy level. I first used generation U-can on my cycling a 40 mile ride in just 2 hours and i still felt pretty good. Normally after pushing myself this way left me boinked for quite some time. I did not get the same results on my runs though at first. This weekend I worked as a vendor for the three days and vowed to not eat junk food. I used Generation U-can for my only carbs the entire three days, fruits and veggies for snacks and no heavy meals. Today Feeling pretty disappointed in my training, i left on a planned 3 mile run. took my generation U-can 1/2 hour before my run as suggested. 1 1/2 miles into my run and still feeling pretty good. I decided to extend to a 4 mile run, at the turnaround for a 4 mile run I felt I checked my polar, heart rate lower than normal breathing easy, decided to extend my route again. When I finally got to my cool down walk spot just 1tenth of mile from home, I checked my polar, heart rate never went above 80%, I had run total 6.07 miles in 54 minutes and 1228 calories expended. Until today I had trouble completing 2 miles without stopping and was usually very winded heart rate in the 95% range on the same course. I know that the 3 days semi fasting helped, but I could not have done this without the Generation U-can. Today's run has energized my spirit I believe that with the 12 weeks I have left for training and using Generation U-Can I will complete the marathon in the 3 1/2 hour time frame I set out for.
