Another E.R. complaint. Was there for chest pain a few weeks ago. Before change of tour in a.m. I was very uncomfortable and scared. I was getting blood taken and an ekg. There were employees there in front of the area I was in looking at stupid stuff on the Internet and joking around. One woman in particular was talking very loud and using profanity in every other sentence. No kind of professionalism on her part at all. There were people on each side of me who seemed to be in alot of pain. Who wants to hear people joking and cursing when you are worried about your health. Later a nurse had to come and reprimand that same woman about not helping with a patient. The rude woman told her she was taking a test on computer. Come to find out she was told she was not eligible for it and who told her to take it upon herself to make that decision. My thing is that the patient experience starts when he or she sets foot in the door and yes appearances do count. Kudos to the 3 dedicated employees who were pleasant and professional towards me especially the nurse who realized I was there for 5 hrs and got me something to eat.
