Started with a lovely exceptionally tasty lunch at the newly refurbished and open Townsend restaurant in the gallery foyer. Then went to view the Painting in the new Millenium: Radical Figures exhibition. Particularly enjoyed work by Daniel Richter - amazing use of colour. 'Tarifa' (2001) was emotionally moving. Menacing seas. Lord Michael Armitage's video on his use of tree bark to paint on; Nicole Eisenman's Brooklyn Biergarten was mesmerising in its detail. Tschabala Self' a assemblages and applique were full of energy and powerful. A great trip. Would recommend the gallery and this exhibition.
