Bad luck befell us, last June 20, when a rental car parked under the ground was burglarized by breaking a small glass behind the side and taking 2 of our bags containing our laptops, money and other documents as well as cellphones, chargers and so on. The clerk on the floor wasn't there and seemed to have turned up recently. Reported to the security officers, only gave a sheet of paper that had been filled in from our report data, but did not contact the police officers and we even had to go to the police station which was quite far away.
Strangely, when the police station was not 24 hours long, we were asked to report back with the scheduled queue on Friday at 14.00.
The officer did not respond and when we complained, why is it taking so long? And why not look at the scene, why not see and take fingerprints on the car and see the cctv recordings that should exist in developed countries like the Netherlands. Officers only answer the Dutch system like that and do not help so that the report is immediately received and acted upon. The officers did not help this accident and even tried to report to another police station. Officers just always say sorry that's the procedure in the Netherlands.
I thought, is that the kind of neglect of crime in this developed and modern Netherlands? Is there no action against the criminals against us tour guests who are aggrieved. Of course, criminal acts like that can be more fertile and develop if there are no follow-up actions by handling and repression.
Hopefully this only happens to us.
