The good: The team was responsive to inquiries, requests for support, and additional information. The install team was incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, quick, and made sure that the work done on the house would be done safely and last. Only one message in the 16 months we engaged them was not responded to how to make monthly payments immediately after installation.

Warning: Do not assume that the system will be zero cost to you. In the year I've had my solar panels, only three bills have been lower than average. Further, my account has produced only 1 SREC. I did get $5k in tax savings but will end up paying for most of the cost of the panels even if I sell the house (unless I choose not to pay). Oh, and don't expect any notifications about paying your bill in advance. I asked and received no response until 4 days before the $3k lump sum first payment was due.

The bad: The process takes forever--six months to install and an additional three months to register to be eligible for SREC payments. I fully understand COVID and issues with a neighbor's roof causing delays. But it took a month for inspections and financing to wrap and an additional three months for the SREC contract to be filed. Finally, there's no correspondence about your initial bill (min was about $3k) until a few days before it is due. I was not given access to my loan account until I reached out to gain it and there's no way to pay your bill online.
