I didn't like the way the studio handled last year's recital. One month prior to the recital, I had emailed the studio owner to let her know that my kiddo was questioning her gender identity. I did this in hope that they had enough time to prepare a separate dress area for her. Instead they put her in the MEN'S bathroom. I was freaking livid! She didn't even get to hang out with her friends. She felt so excluded. I felt like I gave them plenty of time to work something out. After this experience we decided to take a year off. We had been going to Stars for 9 years. I expected more from them. Now we are looking for another studio.
