Review of DirectBuy of Rochester

If I had to rate I will just say it's ok. Membership cost is a complete turn off but if you are planning to buy lot of high-end furniture it is worth it.

Here is the CATCH. READ THIS !!
When you check out, your shopping cart, the subtotal will include
1. Item cost
2. Vendor fee, Shipping Fee, Handling Fee, Duty, Brokerage fee
THEN, tax is added on top of all above !!!.
From my experience total cost of no 2 will be about 30% to 50% of your product cost, so if you are buying an item for $500 expect to pay about $1000 (including tax) +-.

Cons :
1. Directbuy recently increase most of electronic items so don't even bother buying from them, better of buying stuff from Bestbuy on sales event days. (you will have convenience of returning if you don't like if you buy from bestbuy or other retailers).
2. It's almost impossible to return an item or get a refund
3. Most items you cannot buy from online, and price is not visible unless you call them or email them each product you want to find out the price
4. You need to go to their office to order items then go back to pick it up when it arrive, and weekday they close at 4:30pm, not sure if they extended hours.
5. Delivery is worst experience in my opinion, they said will be delivered in the early morning but ended up coming around 10pm !
6. Delivery charge to your home will cost around $100 to $200, CONFUSED ? why you pay delivery fee again when you already paid for the shipping fee ? Hahaha, suckers ! Shipping fee is for the manufacturer to ship to DirectBuy not to your house ! suckers !
7. You think you are getting a better deal buying hardwood floor, blinds, shutters, or anything has to do with home renovation ? NOPE ! not even any discount, not much different than you walk into hardwood floor and ask for the price, you get the same treatment.

Only good thing about Directbuy is when you buy furniture, that's about it.
Ask your self, is it worth to spend $5000 on membership to buy a nice highend furniture which you will not be able to return ?
