It s sad to see this formerly magnificent public city library reduced to just one big dreary room. It does offer a place for the restless downtown homeless to find some temporary shelter which is good. But is this what all the people who gave or left money to the library ever had in mind?! Renovations are underway and hopefully this terribly long period of a dreary one room library will someday come to a close. But can a library that has lain fallow for years come back to life again? I hope so.
