I went into the emergency room for a head injury of my daughter three years later transferred to the general pediatric ward.
I can affirm that the primaries are up to the reputation of the hospital (in my case neurosurgeon and hematologist), but below them the total void. Nurses polite or rude and arrogant (with luck), almost no information. Entering the ward, you are deposited on the couch and from that moment on almost total blackout on medical news and on the evolution of the hospitalization. Nurses do not take responsibility to inform, the pediatrician in charge of the room refers you to the primary who obviously passes when he can be super busy. The result is' you spend the whole day knowing little or nothing in contact with doctors unmotivated at best. Blame them? I think more the fault of a system that now makes money and that has lost that vocation of help of the next and that looks only to gain with a total cynicism that is reflected on all the staff.
Another aspect is that in addition to treating diseases, they should pay more attention to the spirit and respect for the state of mind of families and patients. It should be taken for granted as it is the Vatican that owns the hospital and therefore should transfer those human values that the Pope speaks to us every Sunday, to his staff but unfortunately it is not. Here, too, the rule that one works where one finds work is not by passion or mission.
To conclude I would say that 'really one of the few structures that Vatican malfunction. And do not be fooled by those who say that 'among the best in Italy for the care of children. In Italy there are three hospitals for the care of children, easy to win a medal when he competes in the third.
