Do not use this company for a personal move. We used them 7 years ago and had a great experience. This time was horrible. It was a total scam to just get as much money out of you as possible. They tell you that they will only use people who have a background check but then on the day of the move, they didn't send enough people, so it had to be outsourced to random friends of the movers (who ended up being better than AMJ!).

They offer packing services but cost is based on the number of boxes packed. Notably they wrap EVERYTHING in five layers of paper. For example, they wrapped a placemat in paper. What a way to build up cost. The back office doesn't reconcile boxes packed properly so you have to be very diligent in checking those things.

As mentioned, the move did not have enough staff so it took longer than estimated. Notably, the cost is based on the number of hours!

Lastly, I paid for the additional insurance and when I went to file a complaint it was denied. The reason being? I signed off on the move at the end of the day. For clarity, I signed off on the move as I was told it was needed to be done to close off the move but I could follow up with any problems afterwards. In addition, it was my vacuum that was broken by the packers (they were unprofessional enough to plug the charger into the vacuum and then wrap it in layers of paper, which caused the port to snap). Obviously, on the day of the move I did not notice this but noticed it later that week and reported it immediately. I was advised that because I signed the form, the claim would be denied. What a scam. Please pay us for insurance, but then when you sign off on the form, we won't pay you.

Please do not use this company, they do not deserve your business. They did not value my returning business!
