I can take the bad with the good and this place was both. I showed up alone on a Friday night about 7:15 p.m. A couple walked in just ahead of me and were seated immediately. While I was waiting for the hostess apparently something went wrong with that couple's seating arrangement and they returned to the reception area. I asked (manager? Owner?) for a seat by the window so I could watch the planes land and take off, but was told that since every seat is a window seat every view would be good.
The hostess returned. I repeated my request. She said there was a reservation for the table right by the window for a party of four. I pointed and said, "oh that one?" She said, "yes." I was then seated at a booth probably 25ft to the window. Decent view.
The couple who had just come in before me was quickly seated at the table by the window I just pointed to! The only other table by a window in that dining room was a four-top. I left about 8:15 p.m. and no one had used that table yet.
The waitress Patrice was nice. She seemed knowledgeable. The atmosphere was unique in many different ways (airstrip view, all ages, history, dance floor, bar, patio, dining room).
The food was average. But it appeared reasonably priced. I wish they had offered me a seat out on their gigantic patio as it was a mild night. But they never presented that alternative, even after expressing interest in being closer to the action. That disappoints me.
I would probably go back to give it another chance. But I would go with other people who were visiting from out of town as the experience is unique. Three stars because it had pros and cons. With tip I was out of there for $42.
