This is a long review and long overdue, but in planning a dinner for this coming weekend I was reminded of the incredible experience we had at Pulcinella last summer and I had to share. Literally, it was good enough that I am writing a review over six months later because only one other experience has compared since (Magpie and Stump in Banff I see you). Anyways, where to start. Firstly, it's lovely inside, clean, simple, bright, maybe a little cramped for the boomers who insist on having a table for 15 people when there are only seven of them because they feel entitled to that much elbow room, but for the rest of us the bustling atmosphere and open concept full of muffled chatter just adds to the ambience. The menu has great options, the pizza is actually unreal (in the top 10 in YYC for sure) and we had lasagna (still remember) also to die for. But the actual best part of the night was our server, Rob, who honestly might be the best server in Calgary. He was friendly, funny, prompt but also not hovering over us the entire time. I honestly feel like he can read minds, we existed in comfortable privacy, but the second we needed a water, napkin, clean fork, name of that actor that you can't remember, but was in that movie with that other actor who is tall... he was there. Rob, maybe you were creepy watching from behind the bar, just waiting to pop up with the solution to our every whim, but I don't care. It was fabulous. You are stupendous. 10/10 would eat here again. 11/10 would like Rob to teach me his ways. 2/10 terrified that your name isn't Rob and I have incorrectly remembered this whole experience.
