This marble cave is well worth the side trip on the Redwoods to Crater Lake itinerary. In addition to a fun cave tour, the Chateau is a very cool place to stay, a historic lodge sided in cedar bark with none of the distractions of modern life. The Monument trails access the largest Douglas fir tree in Oregon, which is roughly 20" in diameter and grows astride its own spring.
