Fun staff, knowledgeable instructors, well-maintained cars and track and an overall great time if you have reasonable expectations and a fairly deep wallet.
If you want to have the opportunity to drive a super-car on a closed road course, learn a little and ensure that you are going to be safe, this is a great way to go as long as you can afford the price to play.
If you are used to going to 'track days' or run SCCA races and having free reign, if you don't like to listen or take direction, or you already own a super-car, then you probably aren't going to have a great time.
If you are a 'car guy/gal', speed freak and dream of having a super-car, are willing to listen, take instruction, and understand that your time in the car will fly by, you will have a blast.
Like any place that takes your money, this is a business. They are there to provide an excellent customer experience. They are also there to make money. They can't do that unless their nearly $200K cars are well-running and in one piece. They also can't do that if people are stupid and injure themselves (think insurance and bad reviews).
I had the opportunity to drive three different cars, with three different instructors. The cars (McLaren, Porsche and Lamborghini) were all as different as the instructors. None were bad. They were all fun. They were all different. The thing that was consistent was the non-stop instruction and that they will push you to get better and go faster as long as you are listening and acting accordingly. I was able to get the McLaren up to over 125 on the straight, and the average of my best lap in each cars was under the 60 second mark.
I only wish I had more than 5 laps per car and that it was more affordable for the average gear-head. Your laps will be over before you know it. I understand the reason for the price: the cars are expensive, they have a lot of quality staff, a well-maintained facility and I can only imagine their insurance premiums. Looking at it from this perspective, it is reasonable.
