I received a letter in the mail stating that I was PRE-APPROVED for a personal loan. In my mind, and probably the minds of others as well, take that to mean exactly that; that they are willing to give me a loan. All I need do is call or go online to see what interest rate they would give me. I went online and applied only to be DENIED !

What kind of pre-approval is that ? So I called the company and the rep said "....that letter is (just) marketing; we don't know your income, etc before you actually apply on line..."

Wow !
