The workmanship on the frame was really nice, but ...

The workmanship on the frame was really nice, but Paolo felt entitled to display the painting in the shop window without asking for permission. The painting was a portrait of my grandmother by a friend of hers, so I feel sentimental about it, and it was never intended as a show piece. After noticing it on display as I was walking down Castro St in the evening, I emailed Paolo to ask to remove it from the window. He replied he could not while the shop was closed. When I picked it up two days later at mid-day, on the next day the shop was open, it was still in the window; Paolo had forgotten to take it down. It seemed inconsiderate.
If you'd like a free exhibit of the art along with framing, this is a good spot.
