I will never go back there EVER. We're travelling a lot with mu husband around Europe and we have used quite a few airports in the UK before, but this airport managed to gave us the worst travelling experience so far. As a regular traveller, I'm always perfectly prepared for the security at the airport. All my cosmetics are packed properly, I'm not wearing any jewellery and belts, my shoes are easy and quick ti get off, all this to speed up the security process as this is just the least favourite part of each journey. However, for some reason the security randomly pulled out my bag for double checking (ehich still I do understand, it's a big airport, extra security won't hurt anyone). However, rven though there was at least 6 people working on the side, checking the bags it took them 35 minutes to give me my bag back (of course all clear and safe). Because of it, we've missed the flight. And it wasn't uneven the end of our bad experience with this airport. Firstly, we were sti at the gate 25min before the departure. In spite of that, they didn't allow is to get on the plane. We still have seen other people waiting outside the plain to get in but no, they couldn't open the doors for us. Also, we were not the only one. There was 7 people on total who "missed" the flight, or should I say, were refused to open the door outside. Even then, we tried to stay positive thinking that it's not the guys fault who works there, it's the rules etc. After that, we were waiting another 30min for anyone to pick us up and let us go back to the main terminal as there is not way for anyone to go back yourself. You need to be assisted by an employee. On the way back, three separate people checked our tickets "if they're genuine" in order to move on (I mean, what????) not to mention that each employee was extremely rude and had a proper attitude. Even though, we were the ones having a reason to be upset, the workers of the airport had an attitude. So we booked another tickets for Madrid and waited an additional 12h at this horrendous airport in order to move on. This is just horrible, horrible place. I would give this place 0 stars over anf over again of I could. We will never be using London airports again, no doubt about it.
