My child is not an autistic patient. He has epilepsy, which comes with its own behavioral challenges. We came to Cortica a year and a half ago at the recommendation of another epilepsy mom in San Diego after failing with 4 other neurologists. Cortica was the first clinic that treated my son s behavior and not just his seizures. I tell everyone I know in the epilepsy community that it was an autism specialist who finally gave my son the care he needed. In towns like San Diego, where there aren t many good pediatric epileptologists available, Cortica should widen its client base to include kids with epilepsy.
