My dear Aunt has dementia and is on hospice. We had implemented protocol, with the additional staff we hired and the Executive Director at a Solstice Senior Living Facility, to limit visits to 15 minutes. She becomes confused, agitated and with COVID also, this has become a safely issue.
Our attorney, caregivers and the Solstice Executive Director met and agreed, in writing, to follow the recommended protocols. However, the Executive Director, at his whim, allowed visitor(s) to disregard our agreement. Visitors that just flew across the country during a COVID pandemic.
This Executive Director and uninformed staff also notified the wrong contact person during an emergency. He had not updated this critical information, specifically sent to him from our attorney, requesting him to do so months earlier.
The Executive Director is concerning to say the least.
Where do we turn?
My aunt's safety is at issue and we're wondering why this unnecessary pain and aggravation to our family is occurring?
We are grieving the health condition of my aunt.
For what purpose is your Executive Director interjecting his wishes into the care of our Aunt?
What sort of training does he have?
If he's a licensed medical doctor or has a law degree, why don't we just hire him?
I hope to hear from someone in corporate soon.
