I retained Ed Lear in 2014 on the advice of my DUI atty for protection from a simple DUI. I am a physical therapist. Mr Lear refused initially to take my retainer as he said they would never come after me for a DUI. It is now 2 years and $15k later, and his representation of me was pathetic. His office did not notify me of plans to meet before the ALJ hearing, called no witnesses,, and effectively got his professional head handed to him by a newby DA. He almost never communicated with me in a 2 year interval, and it was readil;y apparent that he and his staff spent about a grand total of 1-2 hours max on my case. He has an excellent CV, but as an attorney in an actual case, my dog would have done a better job. I feel victimized by him. So do not use him.
