The American University in Cairo is an independent, not-for-profit, multicultural and multidisciplinary Egyptian university, and the university is one of the largest universities that provide a distinguished education in the English language. It was established in 1919 in Tahrir Square in the center of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and its current headquarters has become in New Cairo, and it has a Guardian Council and some administrative offices in New York.
