Great hotel and location for families with kids that want/need to stay somewhat away from the famous Beach Road and all the madness but within a short taxi ride. The water park is great fun, one could spend all day in there. There is a somewhat private beach access that's part of the hotel's property which is much safer than those that can be accessed along beach road due to much less boat traffic, wakes, etc... A few small vendors are around selling local snacks, coconut juice, souvenirs, etc... and rentals for water sports activities (kayaking, sailing, boat ride, tube ride, etc...) are available through them as well. The beach is warm and calm (even in mid December) and great for swimming and playing around in but not good for snorkeling at all. For crystal clear water and beautiful marine life viewing and snorkeling, rent a boat and go to the island (can be seen from the beach) and pick a spot with rocky shoreline where marine life is more abundant and active. They're best viewed in around 3 to 10 feet of water. For more adventurous people or those who can free dive, 15-30 feet depth will offer more thrill. Overall, for the money we paid (around $120/night for family of 4) we really enjoyed our stay there.
