It was on labor day that we walked on Pioneer Square and were looking for a tour on the history of Seattle an especially the miraculous story about the world beneath the streets of the old city: where the first floor was turned into first stock (and the ground floor into a basement).
It was on the corner of Cherry street where David advertised the beneath the streets tour and convinced us to join the tour.
It became a very interesting tour which we don t regret.
David told a very interesting story on the once street level with doors and windows but three to four meter beneath the present street level.
David explained not only the giant changes after the European colonists arrived, but explained also the original situation with tidal flats and a steep hill at the east side and the history of the native Americans who lived in balance with the natural situation
It was an exciting and unforgettable experience to see what is beneath the streets of the old Seattle and the businesses in these areas.
David, thanks again for your great tour.
