Review of Woody's Oasis

Definitely on the list of "we must eat here at least twice a month or we might die". Been eating here for over 30 years. Admitting this makes me really old, but I think Woody's is the reason I don't feel really old. My favorite dish is the vegetable kibbie. Anything sandwiched between two layers of mashed potatoes has got to be good, right? Right. The hashwi is great. The skewers are great. The soup is great. The best hummus I've ever had anywhere hands down. I've actually never had anything bad at Woody's. That in itself is a glowing endorsement of any restaurant. I had the cardamon tea today. I didn't remember ever seeing it on the menu before. It was very good, but I prefer more cardamon in my tea. The salads are always fresh and the dressings are authentic. There are no bad choices when you go here. If I can't decide what I want to eat I go here because I am never unhappy with my choice. It's really that good. It is not a sit down and be served restaurant. You place your order, they call your order number and then you find a table. They have lots of tables so it is never a problem to get a place to sit. It is clean and open feeling because there are windows all the way around. Good parking. Not too expensive, just pricey enough so you know it is all made with fresh, real ingredients. You can even eat all vegetarian if you feel like it. Never a mistake to eat in or take it home. Just a word of warning - be prepared to wait in line on game days. It's just off the MSU campus. Everybody that graduated and moved away has been missing Woody's food. That's why we never left East Lansing. (Well, never far enough or for long enough we couldn't get our beloved Woody's fix.)
