My mom fell in this facility just yesterday. I've been trying to get an answer from the Dobie Road facility regarding how and why mom fell. I was told by Sparrow the facility did not offer an explanation to the EMT workers or Sparrow. I called at least four times this morning. Finally a nurse manager called me nearly a full day after the fall and explained that mom had been in that facility for 20 minutes and fell because of her weakness on her right side from the stroke. I explained that she was a fall risk and Sparrow Hospital had an alarm on her bed and I asked if there was an alarm on her bed and she said that facility does not use alarms. Because of the fall, mom's eyeglasses are broken and she has a sub arachnoid hemorrhage that Sparrow Hospital is monitoring.She had a CT scan when she arrived and she had another one this morning just before I called to check on her condition. Subarachnoid hemorrhage is a very serious condition. I will never send anyone to this facility again. I may look into contacting a lawyer when I return. She was only there for twenty minutes. Pretty sloppy work.
