The oil refinery is a must do if you're in Marsden. It's very informative and especially when you see the smoke from the factory it would calm your nerves to know how much carbon footprint is really given out from the factory. The receptionist was lovely, we arrived and she immediately played the video, we were the only ones watching. My preschooler and toddler enjoyed sitting and watching the video of the history of New Zealand's oil refinery they even had a large model displayed.
