It is a neo-Renaissance building built in the mid-nineteenth century according to the design of Karol Ferdynand Langhans, the author of the theater in Wroclaw. The building is located on the market square, the architecture is modeled on the Strozzich Palace in Florence. In the post-war years, until 1965, the building was occupied by the Russians, since 1999 the theater is named after Helena Modrzejewska.
