15 weeks pregnant and had a migraine and both my arms went numb so we called the midwife team who, after describing my symptoms to the dr on the maternity ward, told me to go to a and e. Went to St Mary's and stood at the counter right in front of the lady who was conducting a jovial chat with one of her colleagues, she didn't even acknowledge us for many awkward minutes, I was just slumped there with my eyes half closed as every light and sound was excruciating; my husband was trying really hard not to get annoyed, she acknowledged us after 5 minutes and spoke to us after more than another five, she said their computers were down and after describing my symptoms and exchange with the midwives team, she looked unmoved and told me last time the system was working it was a 3 hour wait. We went all the way to Chelsea and Westminster and despite the waiting room being just as full, they saw me in 10 minutes, had me in a bed in 15, blood pressure taken, temp taken. Sure it took a few hours it's a Friday night, but they did the vitals and kept me safe and monitored, because guess what, they prioritise pregnant ladies. They outperformed St Mary's in every possible way.
