I applied for the role of a correctional officer with parklea and was successful and invited to a 9 week training pending a security clearance, the HR ladies at parklea guarnteed me that checks would be back before training started and so 1st week of training to hand in notices to former employers, i did so and then 2nd week into training i was pulled into the HR office and told i would not be getting a clearence and couldnt work there and had to leave. Due to the GEO group at parklea i was left jobless and in financial trouble i tried to get an appeal either with their help or through corrective services but the geo group where not helpful. I would not recommend employment with the geo group parklea my short time with them it seemed what the general manager view for the prison and what the guards teaching new recruits are not the same and their HR department is pathetic. Private prisons dont work!!!
