I had a great experience when I went there, although I went to the consulate part of it where they handle passport requests and other services for french citizens.
Everyone was polite towards me and my requests were taken care of really fast.
I was there around noon and the smell coming from the cafeteria was wonderful. I wish visitors were allowed to eat there.
For the ones that complain about the rudeness of the french staff when applying for a visa, I want to assure you that when I went to the US Embassy in Paris I was disappointed by the bad attitude, rudeness, coldness, unfriendliness and arrogance of the US staff as well.
