The hotel is charming and the staff very polite. It s old, and there are little quirks that come with that. But the small room reminded me of staying at my grandmother s house. Everything was clean, and I enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast delivered to my room.
The reason I m giving the place 2 stars is because the bed was like cardboard over bricks. I ve slept in many ancient guest rooms in my time, but even those mattresses that were purchased new in 1965 were better than this. And the pillows...embarrassing. They should be thrown away. No hotel charging more than $30 a night should be operating with this type of bed and pillows. It s ridiculous. At the end of the day a hotel is for sleeping. The bed and pillows should be thrown away and replaced with something of decent quality.
