Considering how much it costs to get into the Tower, I have to say I was slightly underwhelmed by what there was inside. There are some interesting things to look at (assuming you like swords, suits of armour, jewellery, torture instruments and large black birds) but if you go here on a weekend you'll find yourself queuing for absolutely everything.
The Crown Jewels were also a lot less impressive than I remember them being when I went there as a child - I also couldn't help thinking as I wandered past the various crowns and sceptres, not 'isn't this impressive/interesting', but 'why have I paid loads of money and queued for ages just to look at a bunch of rich people's stuff?!' ;-)
In the interests of full disclosure though: my family enjoyed it more than I did.
