A very good nonprofit that harvests fruit from fruit trees that would otherwise be wasted and gives it to those in poverty. The Project provides ladders, baskets, pickers, and other equipment, and volunteers meet at fruit trees after the owners have given permission for them to harvest.

Volunteers gather and pick the fruit. A good sized tree can easily produce three hundred pounds; types of fruit I have gathered include apples, pears, almonds, plums, and Asian pears. The fruit is sorted into good and ok piles, and the good fruit is delivered to food banks. Volunteers get to take some of the ok fruit home!

All in all, an excellent nonprofit doing fine work, and it's fun! Plus you get tasty fruit. Highly recommended.
