Re "1776": Quite possibly the finest production I've ever witnessed of this venerable musical/play (I mean, there's a solid 30-minute block of narrative exposition), including the recent B'way & off-B'way revivals.

Acquittals all around for a superb-beyond-all-reason cast, from John Adams to the freakin' Congressional custodian. Particular salutes to Matthew Romanelli, who stops the show cold with his white-hot "Momma, Look Sharp." The sets & costumes, the direction of stage, set, & music -- all are top-notch. I was blown away.
