The Sports Palace of P. L. Nervi was built for the XVII Olympiad. Nervi did better at Palazzetto al Flaminio, but the ribs of the dome and the dome shape itself are a wonderful example of that extraordinary way of doing contemporary architecture and at the same time remembering where you are. In this case in Rome, the city of the Pantheon and San Pietro, speaking of domes. Beautiful, however.
