Went to see Maxine Peake in Avalanche and as always she was outstanding. As she played out the highs of the anticipation and excitement of what she was hoping for and the lows of the loss of her relationship and eventual grief of not being able to conceive I could truly empathise with her character and would highly recommend this production. My first visit to the Barbican and we ate in The Kitchen cafe. Though very clean and staff courteous did not find the choice of hot food very appealing so opted for meze and glass of wine which was fine. Very impressed with the building and hope to visit again
