My grandmother fell and broke her hip today. She arrived there to the ER to be treated and get releif for the excruciating pain she was in. She received the first dose when she got there and waited for many hours. The pain comes back and she is in need of a second dose before she gets moved to her room from the ER. After multiple times of asking and getting a response of "the nurse will bring it soon," we never got it before moving. As an aid comes in to escort her to the room, she brings a WHEELCHAIR! She broke her HIP! She cannot sit in a wheelchair. The aid says "Oh." Realy JFK...realy! Dont they look to see why shes there in the first place to determine how to make the transport...also, any movement from the transport with a broken hip is going to hurt. Why didnt she get a second does of medication before moving? She is very elderly and in very severe pain for hours. I am praying she makes it through the night ok.
