My mother and I were in the ER a week ago and it was an up and down experience. The front desk people were very sweet as well as the triage nurse, but the guy that took my mother's blood was just all out rude and very rough. He told her to let her arm hang freely and that it was "the best way". Um, we've had blood drawn plenty of times and the arm has NEVER "HUNG FREELY". She told me he didn't swab the area nor did he put the strap on her arm. Who trained him!? Is this what we do now when we don't want to be at our job that we applied for?! I don't care how crowded the ER is, there was a lack of empathy or sympathy with him and I'll say it was 50/50 for the doctor and his nurse when we finally got called back to a room. We would have gone to the Penrose on Woodmen, but we needed to be seen immediately. I don't know what they're problem is, but you became part of the medical field to HELP people, not to make then feel worse! I barely wanted to put 3 stars for this hospital, but they're for the 3 people who actually treated my mother with respect. If you don't like your job, QUIT! And make room for people who actually care.
